That resource curse is the truest curse I have ever heard. May be except for oil and that too only for the royal families. I am pretty sure wealth hasnt trickled down to entire population in oil rich countries. This is so sad to see!! W.r.t the guy on behalf of the ministry, corrupt politicians will be involved in that mining scam. If he opens his mouth, he will be in trouble. It is not easy! I am sure he wants to do the best. Corrupt politicians are everywhere and it is their job to exploit the poor which is very unfortunate
so how would they earn a living without mica?
i do not wear make up and i dont want to there must be a better way to live life and look beautiful
I'm shocked at this
Saddest story behind the so called beauty of earth.... cosmetics should be banned and natural beauty should be encouraged....
This is a story of how Corrupt the Government is... The kids are super working hard while we are putting make ups on our faces😥
But if everyone stop buying products with mica, companies will stop buying mica too. What will the children and their families do if that happens? It's sad to think that some people in this world has no other options but to risk their life in order to live. 😥 Rich people are the worst people. They get to profit thousand or even millions of dollars in this products and they don't even think of giving these people the right benefits or even the education that the children needs nor the rightful amount for the mica that these people risk their lives to get.
And she is wear it
. the reason is its sHiNeY like bruh
It should be a crime of the greatest degree to "make something illegal" in such cases( for which this one is not that extreme in comparison to other things happening in the world), because by removing their only means of survival, you have just become a swift and more cruel means to killing them slowly. Let's put this into perspective for all of the simple-minded people out there... you are given a gallon of polluted water and told that it is all that you can drink until you die. You do not know what is inside that water that makes it "polluted", but even with low amounts of education, you know that you will easily die well before 7 days have gone by if you don't drink it. If you do drink it, you are likely to die within the first day, or even outlast those 7 days and go beyond them. While it is left to chance, your chances of survival with that polluted water in the long run, are still higher than if you choose to go without it. Try imagining the despair and pain of someone having to helplessly face that kind of situation on a daily basis for their entire foreseeable future. How strong would you be in their shoes? Could you even fathom such a reality for yourself? So if anyone followed this far, by providing support towards making something illegal just because you yourself find it bad, while you are utterly incapable of providing a viable way for the community to sustain themselves and grow, it's as good as if you didn't let that person have that bottle of polluted water in the first place. In other words, while free will sounds great for people that make those decisions, if you have the means to make a change by providing an actual solution for growth, like an alternative, and the will to do it, then go for it. Because you are far better than any person which puts the effort into making something illegal before providing a viable solution for growth, which in turn sentences these kinds of populations to certain death, a thing which is far more common than you might be capable of imagining. Also, if you think further, providing a second bottle of water, or even a third, and a fourth, is no long term solution either, they could still die within that first day. Keep in mind now that the use of the "bottle of polluted water" here, is purely made for the purpose of analogy. If you somehow as a person (which everyone has the right to their own moral beliefs) think that there needs to be a change, then it takes more effort than that. Education? People throw away books by the millions every single day in the world. Sustainability? Provide it by example. While education is nothing more than a mere tool, and unless someone teaches you how to use that tool, you might not make the most out of it. Most people think that educated people are all intelligent, or even confuse the word "intelligence" for a much different word called "wisdom", but if you look around, you might find out that it isn't true. Anyways, I know it can be hard for some people to watch these videos, so hopefully this helps some understand that it's not just one party at fault that needs a finger pointed at, because that is not providing a solution to any problem. You are not children, and even most children know better than to do that.
Sad
We need change of government and they all should be charged with crimes against humanity!! May God Bless all those children and their families 🙏
This makes me get sick when I use my makeup COME ON MAN HAVE SOME FAITH IN CHILDREN
i dont wear makeup, and that was just because i dont feel like i need makeup to be pretty, and now im glad that i dont. the most i have ever done is basic things but thats almost never.

What would you be doing if you weren't mining today? Ans: Go hungry.
Reporter: today we are here to unveil the Shady side of Makeup. Also her: loaded with Full on Makeup
Mean while they ain’t even helping they just recordin
Why is life this way people act like this act is for a reason but they know they don’t mean it
i should send this to my friends so they know why i don’t wear makeup
I cry when I finally see children's smile and they can go to school.
If you can't feed your baby (yeah, yeah) Then don't have a baby (yeah, yeah) And don't think maybe (yeah, yeah) If you can't feed your baby (yeah, yeah) You'll be always tryin' To stop that child from cryin' Hustlin', stealin', lyin' Now baby's slowly dyin' -Michael Jackson👑
Was something done for them to go to school so sad poor children.
Thats why i dont wear makeup😐
6:50 exactly. It's not even comestics companie's fault, it is just... life is hard for these children. If it is not mica, then it will be something else, they have to put food on the table somehow.
Natural is still the best. Less is more.
LIBERATION OF WHAT!? Liberate from what, please explain me. Kids working as slaves, is this the liberation you talk about? What the fuck is going on.
It’s breaking my heart 😭😭😭
I love your video contents ♥️
using this for school so thanks youtube
Sucks instead to help, they doing Documents to earn millions of dollars
Also I live in jharkhand
I am an Indian and I understand
Me being 11. And seeing other 11 year olds, and younger kids, do that. Breaks my heart into a million pieces. . .
Oh hell naw someone call Joe Biden
It is all okay. All that matters(!) is to make Kylie Jenner a billionaire.
this is what we should *all* be focusing on instead of politics
Is Beauty important or is a human LIFE important People don't understand that the reason we have beauty is becuz we have a human life who gives us all..just giving away their life
I really don’t understand all these billionaires in the world who have the means to give these people a modest livelihood so they don’t have to send or sell their children into illegal child labor/abuse. I wish I could save all of them, I really do. This broke my heart.
Why do you think those kids are going into the mines in the first place? Because they are poor and hungry. Now lush has taken that opportunity away and instead of possibly getting killed in a mine these children will die of hunger and extreme poverty. SEE WHEN YOU TRY TO DO A GOOD DEED THERE ARE ALWAYS ANOTHER SIDE THAT MAKES THAT GOOD DEED BAD .
I hope the proceeds generated from the ads on this video support these children
I would say it's time to stop using makeup forever. It harms animals, these children and womens' self esteem. But one can only dream..
The first thing this lady says “makeup can be a tool for liberation and expression.” As they document the oppression of children because of their fucking makeup🤦♂️
Bro, that's the INTRO, her point is that is what people think of when they hear the word "Make up" What she's trying to show is that there is a DARKER side of makeup (as you can see from the title of the video). My god.
@zosia bialowas understood. Not okay with that either. But makeup serves no positive purpose whatsoever
Mica is not only used in makeup
RED LAKE 40 IS GROSSSSSSSSSSSS
Not to be offensive
The real people to blame are their parents. India has several government run schools to give free education and meals to poor children who enroll. They aren't charged for anything. Everything is provided to them. Bags, books, pens etc. But the parents don't send them to schools. They are so dumb that they don't realise that if the government takes care of their children they will have lesser expenses because now the parents will only have to feed and clothe themselves. Yet they make these kids work for their own profit. A 11 year old doesn't even understand basic economics. All this stuff about working for money is implanted in their brains by these fckall parents
hi
I saw this on brutindia
😳
She looks like Nicki Glassier!
When I was little, I used to where makeup for fun, after this, I'm going to try to never wear makeup when I can, though since I'm a dancer, ice skater, and singer, the performances make me have to wear makeup.
Actually in india we are very poor people
Wow this LTworlds channel is awesome ,keep going u guys💪💪💪
As a mining geologist, I see this and am so sad about the state of our society! People love to talk big about justice and activism while not knowing that the products they use are literally killing young girls! *Cough*all consumer tech products*Caugh* . Dangerous artisanal mining that destroys lives and the environment, far more than legal mining, is prevalent in so many conveniences and things we use. Buy responsibly, do your research (that produces real impact and change) and thanks to Refinery29 for this 1st class reporting! It’s crazy that a fashion channel now does better quality reporting than mainstream news companies!!!
That man seems like he had something to do with these
Kids this generation sitvand do nothing and get everything they want and these kids work everyday hard back breaking labour and don't get anything.
These children deserve so much better
I belief this might be there only way of getting money for food
who else came from FB video bcuz she ask who coming 9:54
i... i think that it isn't about make up you guys... child labour is much prevalent in many countries
"and I saw a kids head split open." me : OKAY IM GOING TO OUTER SPACE NOW
im going now
Don't leave. FIGHT. FIGHT INJUSTICE. It's the only way!
Just think about it.... it is almost every industry, the materials are coming from India.....like human hairs for wigs and mica for makeups.....and children's are working for it ....RESPECT INDIA🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
EYELINER IS MY FAVOURITEEEEEEEEEE
So what
Something needs to be done. It needs to be stopped. I can't bare seeing these children suffer like this. It kills me. We lead a comfortable and a beautiful life at the cost of these children's freedom! We don't even think twice before lavishly spending money for things which aren't really necessary for life but look at these people, they don't have money to even fill their stomach! I'm broke and shook!
Illegal selling of mica and putting somebody's life in danger , Now this is a scam and corruption
It was so emotional , that she had tears in her eyes🥺
It was very emotional
Wamens rights
One thing I don't understand what's the point of wearing makeup if u have ur own natural beauty that children don't risk their lives for?
Or maybe fix the problem in its source? I mean defeat the child labour in mica mines than not using cosmetics at all?
Nicht empfelns wert
Why do I get a dating app ad during "I see a kids head split opened" and then there is a dating app ad.....
And this is why I don’t wear makeup
I donate instead
I can't believe there are places in the world where people are treated by this! I am disgusted! Children are working hard. They put their blood, sweat and tears in the products just for some people to be satisfied with how they look for a day and then eventually remove the product. More people should know about this.
Gurus should advertise for ethical makeup because makeup is something that’s really important and a form of art for a lot of people.
I'm never buying makeup ever again after watching this
Actually in india we are very poor people
State government be like, keep them poor.
And when an eye pencil or a lip pencil costs $30 to $50 or more, why are people excavating the ingredients not being paid fairly? Because someone is making a fortune. That’s why.
Mam what u mean
Shame on the government #India
Someone bring them flash lights itleast
Wait WTF why is this not illegal???
It is illegal, it's just that the people don't care or it takes too much money to solve (even though we can solve it)
Education is free under Right to education RTE Act! ....Food Ration is free and subsidised under PDS system for BPL(below poverty line) families in the state! If you see the Video @8:21 mins, you can see Parents are working or having brick manufacturing units NOT mining!!....along with that families or group of villagers or contractors run these illegal mines.....for extra income additional income...that's why in video adults are rarely seen working in the mines!! Those are illegal mines...Families or villagers won't report it as they themselves are involved in running mining business like agriculture or sending children to these mines as "MICA pickers"... Even if one closes the mica mines....next day it will be started as it is illegal mines, does not require license fee/no reporting to authorities/No labour cost(as children are used)/no operating cost..other than digging!!...illegal mining wage money would go to parents or village! Yes Government has to do more to stop corruption and MICA Mafia groups!! above is based on Thomson Reuters investigation in 2016 In one village, a group of women sat under a tree one evening next to a pile of mica that they had agreed to sell 10 days earlier at a price of up to 10 rupees ($0.14) per kilogram. “That they fear reporting deaths or accidents shows their fear of losing their only source of livelihood,” said Govind Khanal of the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF), www.reuters.com/article/us-india-mica-child-labour-trfn/global-spotlight-on-illegal-mica-mines-drives-indian-villagers-to-hide-deaths-idUSKBN1XU04I
Thank you miss. It motivates me to become doctor so that I will get money and help them
Why they will say that I love makeup
Actually in india we are very poor
People don't seem to understand something, if we stop buying makeup, then what will they get? They won't have no food , no money , nothing. The gouvernement should be doing something about this, it dosent matter if you wear makeup or not.
I call bullshit on the fact that people so high up know so little
India is the secret ingredient of makeup. So India is hard working country
I agree, actually a lot of resources comes from your country, together with beautiful clothes and tasty cuisine. But why a lot of these things need child labour to be done? Y'all really should do something about it there
People get mad when there favorite makeup goes away I bet the reason it's gone is to save children #savethechildron
9:45 imagine risking your life for something and found out that it was just for makeup that is sad
it’s so annoying to see so many people hate going to schools and barely attending but these kids risk their lives just to wish for education
This is bloody truth about rural area of this asshole state jharkhand ..all ministers and officials are bloody corrupted ..
I just wanna say the kids faces look sad not gonna lie I feel bad for them :(
Actually in india we are very poor
We need to spread this message to those big. Companies that use the child labor mica and. Tell them to stop for all the trouble they caused for what some foundation?
I'm crying entire this video, I mean I always lazy around to study but these children really want to study. Isn't there any donations to support these children?
This must be shared all over the world everyday!! It's really crucial, this is one of the stories there must much more, i believe those people who produce any product by same stories should be illegal as well and be punished.
Seriously at lest buy them some hard hats
People of this part of india are very very poor, specially north-easterun part of Jharkhand.
Yeah, I heard that jharkhand and bihar are the poorest states
I understand Hindi and when girl the said "If I study I will understand" or something my heart broke into pieces.
Anyone know of affordable makeup that doesn’t use unethically sourced mica?
Get some machinery in there and hire fathers! Mothers become teachers and children become students. Easy.
@Trelise' Avery Moore yeah am forever grateful for what i have
@Levi wilford Ackerman yes! I cannot imagine. I feel terribly for these children and families. It makes me grateful surely for what I have. Its unbelievable really
@Trelise' Avery Moore yeah i agree all this happen because of corrupt government..child labour must be stopped i can't imagine to work for a living at that age
@Levi wilford Ackerman I mean, it really would be that easy if the country government allowed the beauty conglomerates to move in. Estee Lauder and revlon could easily do this. They're just not allowed. There are far too many sanctions. The government needs to relax laws and instead regulate their resources in a western way without being exploited or compromised. Simple.
Its not that easy , company will used these kids rather buy machinery cuz their wages is cheaper than the machine ...i feel sorry for these kids😭😭hope they are not beaten off camera for interviewing
anyone else scared to buy makeup now?
Actually in india we are very poor people
